Banco da Amazônia (BASA) is a Brazilian bank, founded in 1942, and majority-owned by the Government of Brazil. Headquartered in Belém, Pará, the bank operates under federal control. Banco da Amazônia manages and distributes funds from the Fundo Constitucional de Financiamento do Norte (FNO), one of Brazil’s main regional development funds, which provides credit for small businesses, agriculture and infrastructure.
