Together with BankTrack and 30 other organisations, ShareAction sent a letter to Members of the European Parliament urging them to preserve the review clause in the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD).
The clause requires the European Commission to assess whether financial institutions should be legally obliged to identify and address their impacts on people and the planet.
Removing it would send the signal that the EU is unwilling even to consider holding the financial sector accountable for its role in financing human rights abuses and environmental destruction.
