About NORD/LB

NORD/LB (Norddeutsche Landesbank) is a universal bank at the heart of northern Germany and is clearly focused on its core business with special attention paid to the region. The company's headquarters in Hanover, Braunschweig and Magdeburg mark the roots of the bank in its supporting states of Lower Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt.

NORD/LB looks back on a one hundred year old tradition. In 1970, Norddeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale emerged from the merger of four predecessors: Braunschweigische Staatsbank (established in 1765), Hannoversche Landeskreditanstalt (established in 1840), Niedersächsische Landesbank Girozentrale (established in 1917) and Niedersächsische Wohnungskreditanstalt Stadtschaft (established in 1918).

As a commercial bank, NORD/LB offers an extensive range of financial services to their private, corporate and institutional customers as well as public sector customers. In the area of structured financing, they are involved in ship and aircraft financing and in international projects at select locations in the sectors of energy, infrastructure, industry and real estate. Globally, they are represented in all important trading centres such as London, New York, Shanghai and Singapore through our branches and representative offices.

NORD/LB does business as the Landesbank for Lower Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt and assumes the responsibilities of a central bank for savings banks in the federal states of Lower Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. As a central bank for savings banks, they are a partner of the savings banks in Lower Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Beyond these three federal states, they also operate as a service provider for individual savings banks.

The bank's activities include the development business. Investitionsbank Sachsen-Anhalt (Saxony-Anhalt Investment Bank) and Landesförderinstitut Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania State Development Institute), which belong to the NORD/LB Group, advise the respective state governments
