China Everbright Bank was established in August 1992 and is headquartered in Beijing. The bank focuses on the Chinese domestic market and operates in over 60 major Chinese cities of 25 provinces, municipalities and autononous regions with its 34 branches and more than 600 branches and banking outlets and one representative office in Hong Kong.
The bank is a nationwide joint-stock commercial bank and was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2010. The company serves personal and corporate clients alike and offers a variety of services, including: personal safety deposits; wealth management; credit cards; underwriting loans; and trade financing.

In 2011, the bank developed China Everbright Bank Guidelines for Green Credit Policy that included its goal of building a leading institution of green finance, and made specific arrangement in terms of credit policy and credit management for developing green credit businesses.
